Show poster for the Birmingham-based, surf-rock gods, 13Ghosts. When I was told the show was on Friday the 13th, I just had to do it. Scott Peek always does a killer job bringing in top talent to his shows, plus Standard Deluxe is the best print shop in the South. A little more about 13Ghosts (from Pitchfork) - "Brad Armstrong sings like Richard Buckner at a closed-casket viewing and favors intensely Book of Revelations imagery. 13ghosts continue to reinvent themselves with every song, trying on new sounds and styles to see what fits…The Strangest Colored Lights is a persistently somber, mostly humorless album, but it's so musically vigorous that you wouldn't mind if they dwelt on death for the rest of their lives."

Poster for the 2012 Tour - Seattle date, inspired by the old Atari classic “Missle Command” - for some reason their music reminds me of being a kid and explosions in the sky was a perfect link to a childhood favorite game. Explosions in the Sky is an American post-rock band from Texas. The band has garnered popularity beyond the post-rock scene for their elaborately developed guitar work, what they refer to as "cathartic mini-symphonies," and their enthusiastic and emotional live shows.The band's music is instrumental and completely void of vocals. You may know them from the Friday Night Lights Soundtrack.

For ten years, Blue Mountain not only ruled Oxford, Mississippi’s music scene, they were world renowned. Voted “Oxford’s Most Legendary Band,” and deservingly so. They were signed to America’s largest Independent record label, Roadrunner Records, were known for touring the globe with bands such as Wilco and Son Volt, and they played some of the best roots rock you’ll ever hear. On a personal note: probably one of my all-time favorite posters — that I have done. Expanded my style to really fit the band and was happy with the result. Printed by Scott Peek at Standard Deluxe.

As part of the redesign and rebrand of Birmingham Magazine, developed new templates, masthead, departments and overall content strategy, as well as a comprehensive style guide. The team at BIG Communications also designed the features for the new mag. A really fun project, that I am proud of when I see it on the newsstand. Additional credits: Matt Lane Harris AD - Old Made New feature, Shannon Harris AD, Illustrator - Welcome Additions feature, Ford Wiles ECD - Cover art and Tony Petelos feature, and last, but not least Ryan Brown AD - Masthead and Template master build.

The full page newspaper ads are shown in this gallery. Props to Ford Wiles, Executive Creative Director at BIG Communications for the great visual concept. I just did all the post and some of the copy.

I mean really, it’s a bowling extravaganza - what three year old wouldn't love to be a part of this kind of crazy fun? Did I mention the free cake? More themed event graphics for my son. :)</description>

Brand identity for the Birmingham - Jefferson County Transit Authority. The BJCTA has had its issues over the years, the worst being broken buses and underfunding to fix or replace. When Federal funding came through to help purchase a new fleet of CNG buses, it was a great opportunity to re-brand and make a fresh start. I wanted to give it a clean, modern look that would also be somewhat timeless. &#60;img src="http://payload3.cargocollective.com/1/3/96824/2364937/BJCTAMAX-Side.jpg" width="640" height="600" width_o="640" height_o="600" src_o="http://payload3.cargocollective.com/1/3/96824/2364937/BJCTAMAX-Side_o.jpg" data-mid="11889652"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload3.cargocollective.com/1/3/96824/2364937/BJCTAMAX-Sides.jpg" width="640" height="487" width_o="640" height_o="487" src_o="http://payload3.cargocollective.com/1/3/96824/2364937/BJCTAMAX-Sides_o.jpg" data-mid="11889653"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload3.cargocollective.com/1/3/96824/2364937/BJCTAMAX-FrontBack.jpg" width="640" height="368" width_o="640" height_o="368" src_o="http://payload3.cargocollective.com/1/3/96824/2364937/BJCTAMAX-FrontBack_o.jpg" data-mid="11889655"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload3.cargocollective.com/1/3/96824/2364937/BJCTAMAX-Downtown.jpg" width="640" height="356" width_o="640" height_o="356" src_o="http://payload3.cargocollective.com/1/3/96824/2364937/BJCTAMAX-Downtown_o.jpg" data-mid="11889657"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
